| 03.03.2006 - ETA Alumni magazine article published
|
| Hello fellow AKL's. It's been a long time since I've been in touch with most of you, but I'd like to share my recent exciting news.
An article that I wrote for Northwest Fly Fishing Magazine is out. It is a quarterly publication, and the Spring 2006 issue with my article on the Wenaha River of Oregon hits the newsstands this week.
If you are in the Northwest, you should find this mag at Borders, Powell's, Barnes & Noble, Fred Meyer, a newsstand, or at your local fly shop for about five or six bucks - it has a white border, yellow font, and a glossy photo depicting fly fishing with pretty yellow spring flowers. If you are not in the Northwest, you can go to the website, www.matchthehatch.com and try out a FREE TRIAL ISSUE and/or subscribe to the magazine. (If you subscribe, my next feature article should be published next spring.) Their website for the NW region is http://www.matchthehatch.com/frame.php?st=nw which shows the table of contents for the Spring issue containing the article.
Please consider buying a magazine if you are the least bit interested in what I've been up to recently and what I have enthusiasm and passion for or just to help support the publication that gave me a foot in the door. Let me know if you have any questions, and let's get out there and fish!
Fraternally yours,
Kyle Hadersberger (eta 90)

| 01.18.2006 - ETA Alumni book published
|
| Gary Springer (eta 90) recently had his book Coma Dreams : and Other Stories published. You can purchase his book at Amazon.com. A Kid's Review - This is a book I won't forget. Coma Dreams is a collection of hard-hitting portraits - the battered, the lost, used-up and desperate men who still seek meaning in an often indifferent world. Responding to the cartoon violence splashed across our modern media landscape, Springer offers a more realistic vision of a world hooked on adrenaline, testosterone, and sweat under the lights that have now faded with the roar of the crowd.

| 09.23.2005 - ETA Alumni Board needs your help...
|
| The corportation/alumni board is particularly proud of the recruitment efforts of this years incoming class. We recruited WSU's top men with WSU's top men. We are nearing capacity at the fraternity house. The efforts of the chapter membership should be congratulated. We are raising money for the installation of a fire sprinkler system at the WSU AKL Fraternity House in Pullman . This location is a prime candidate for the retrofit as there have been two major fires on the property in the past 25 years. In addition, the university has made it mandatory that all “University Approved” housing have fire sprinkler systems installed and operational by the fall of 2006. Estimates will soon be available. We are hoping to complete this crucial project by this spring.
This is a major investment and the house needs your help! Your donation to the ETA Chapter Building Fund will go toward this investment. We need your help to keep AKL as the top fraternity on campus. Please visit www.wsuakl.com to help us. If you are able to help in other ways beyond donations, we'd love your help. We have positions on the Corporation Board. You may have access to discount furniture, bunk beds, supplies, etc. Everyone can bring a unique skill set to help accomplish a better living environment for our undergraduates. Your assistance in any capacity is very welcomed. John Wiest -
Eta Chapter Alumni President -

| 12.10.2004 - Regional Conference
|
| I am currently organizing a regional conference with the national fraternity. What this is: Eta, Alpha Phi (Moscow), and Gamma Theta(Boise) chapters will all be coming together on the weekend of Nov. 13 to hold a conference concerning an educational/informative program on the role of the National Executive Council and an introduction to its officers. There will also be a RITUAL performed by the national members. This will be particuarly interesting to alumni. Most of them never had a chance to see ritual how it is best reinacted/performed by the members of the NEC (national exec. council). It is really something! Eta chapter will also be putting on an informative Risk Management presentation at the conference. |
| 12.02.2004 - Ceremony for a junior brother
|
| Alpha Phi helped us run an Omega Ceremony for a junior brother who died of a rare case of acute pneumonia Aug. 16 at 2:02 am. His name was Cory O'Brien and was former scholarship chair, pledge class president, and the junior holding highest PIN, as well as a great man and academic.
PKT's donated a white rose bush that was planted next to the front steps in his memory. We also had a piece of marble engraved to be placed in front of the bush. |
